hey all.

do any of you have a song that reminds you of a special time in your life?

the reason i'm asking this is that today i heard the song passenger by iggy pop. it reminded me of stuff we used to do in school therapy classes, and to be that was something i enjoyed.

what about you guys

The song, Last Night I Didn't Get To Sleep At All,

reminds me of a song I would think of while

staying up most of the nite while doing

school home work long essays, you know, those all-niters...

Satellite by OceanLab and Anywhere by Evanescence remind me of my first bf. When things went well they were amazing, but when they went to shit they really did go to shit. But those just remind me of the good times. Far Away by Nickelback reminds me of my second bf. I have music that remind me of the third and fourth ones, but it's just random stuff. Holiday music, the kind on the radio, always reminds me of Christmas in South Carolina, when what the southerners called "ice storms" would knock the power out. Funnily enough those were some of the calmest happiest times, because we'd light a huge fire in the fireplace and I'd read books in front of it all day. There are a few little scores from movies and things and tiny fragments of recorded music from God knows where that always remind me of those really peaceful minutes in the middle of the night when you drift up from sleep momentarily, just because a nice song is on...

As silly and cliche as it sounds, If you're not the one by that pop singer who never went anywhere Always dredges up thoughts of One of my more interesting and heart-felt relationships. It's been six years, and I'm all settled down and married now. But I'm a sentimental old bastard, to a fault some might say, and hearing that song always makes me wonder how she's doing, and what would have happened had I not been such a douche. WOulda, coulda shoulda ... but still, there it is.

Omg there's so many songs, I couldn't list one, but As Long as You're Mine from Wicked is the first song I sang to my bf, so yeah

I have songs that remind me of every one of my relationships, a few songs that remind me of particular times in my life, a couple favorite of all time songs from my choir years. All up in my head, and ready to be called down on a moment's notice. A particular phrase, atmosphere, location, all sorts of things can make me think of times in my life. Have a quote I said a year or so ago:

"Most music has it's place, most music is important. music reminds us to think, but it also reminds us to love, to laugh, to be thankful, and that there's even a place for anger and the rage. We let it all out in song."

Amen, Miah. Couldn't have said that better. I, too, have songs that remind me of every relationship I've ever been in. Songs that remind me of certain friends, or specific times and places in my life. Way too many to list here, not to mention that many have personal stories to go with them, that I'm not going into. Sometimes I'll hear a song, and it will remind me of something I totally forgot about, up till then. But music is great for reminding us of people, times, and places, as well as for dealing with emotions, whether good or bad.

I totaly agree wity Maya, it's my case. Big girls don't cry by furgy reminds me of close friends who have moved away, and I'm already gone by kelly clarkson just makes me plain sad and melancholy for no reason.

There are songs that remind me of friends, acquaintances, people I can't stand, dances, parties, Girl Scout trips, my semester in France, etc. If I tried to list all of them I think I would be here all day!

"No Air" by Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown always reminds me of my cousin because it was her favorite song before she...went away. *sighs*

That's one of the things I love most about music. there are always songs that remind me of special times in my life. Anything by CCR makes me think of when I was really young. My dad used to love that band. I have songs that remidn me of old friends or boyfriends.
